This year’s new School Council has been appointed.

In order to be selected for the council, each pupil wishing to join the committee   had to give a speech to their year group explaining why they should be chosen. Each pupil then voted for who they’d like to represent them. The top two pupils from each year group were then selected as councillors.

They will now be responsible for being the voice of their peers and will discuss improvements they would like to make to school life. This year, the school council will also be looking at some of the learning across the school and discussing what they observe.

Mrs MacDonald said: ‘The School Council play a very important role in decision making within our school and will be responsible for being the voice of our pupils. The roles also encourages them to take on an active role, developing invaluable responsibility, teamwork and leaderships skills.’
