School closure due to Covid-19 outbreak Friday 12th March and Monday 15th March
This evening the school leadership team has met with Brooke Weston Trust, the Full Governing Body and Public Health England and a decision has been taken that we will close the school on Friday 12th March and Monday 15th March in order to allow a full deep clean of the school.
Despite following all health and safety protocols that have been fully endorsed by The Local Heath Protection Team and Public Health England we feel we must act further to keep our children, our community and our staff safe.
In order to better inform our future decision making we ask for your support in the following:
- On Friday or Saturday please take any children currently eligible to be in school (not currently selfisolating) for a Rapid Lateral Flow Covid test at one of the Corby Testing Centres. An appointment can be booked at: https://www.northamptonshire.gov.uk/coronavirus-updates/Pages/coronavirustesting-in-northamptonshire.aspx
Please note these centres may not be open on Sundays
- Please report your results to jane.macdonald@grettonprimary.org whether negative or positive by 2pm Sunday 14th March
By following the above requests and of course following Covid-19 guidelines at all times you will be supporting our school and wider community enormously.
We hope that conditions will allow a partial reopening on Tuesday 16th March but we will give more class specific details on Monday.
We thank all parents and the wider community for the kind messages of support and understanding that we have had at what has been an incredibly difficult time.
Kind regards,
Jane Macdonald (Principal)
Tim Eaton (Chair of Governors)
