This week, Year 1 students experienced what it was like to be a train driver.
The students travelled to the Easy Midlands Train Training Academy in Derby by train, crossing over the Harringworth viaduct.
Once the students arrive, they had a go on the HST simulator and experienced driving trains through tunnels and across the countryside in a variety of weather conditions from Kings Cross Station.
Oak Class teacher, Mrs Hill said ‘All the children thoroughly enjoyed the day and were a credit to the Academy; it was a memorable day.
‘Thank you to our helpers Jenny Cowley, Caroline Curtis and Sarah-Jayne Dolby who enabled our day to run smoothly and to Mrs Fadden and East Midlands Trains for making the day possible.’
