World Book Day celebrations

The Academy took part in a variety of book-themed activities to celebrate World Book Day.

Children and staff dressed-up as characters from their favourite books and started the day with an assembly, in which each class modelled their outfits and prizes were awarded to pupils for the most creative costumes.

Throughout the day pupils also took part in drop everything and read and every time the bell rang they were read a story, from a different teacher, to expose them to a variety of reading styles.

All children also received World Book Day tokens to encourage reading.
