This year has been another successful Rose Fair at Gretton Primary Academy. The event was full of dancing, stalls and the crowning of our May Queen and King, which we are delighted to announce as Jake and Setareh. Our flower girl was announced as Arabella and this year’s attendants are Elliot, Hallie, Maxwell, Bobbi, Theo, Amelia Mo, Henry, Livy, Ben H, Daisy, Aiden and Eva.

The theme of the fair was ‘The Royal Wedding’ after Prince Harry and Meghan recently tied the knot. To celebrate the children wore pretty dresses and waistcoats and performed country dances in their classes. Year 6 also took part in a very impressive and special Maypole dance.

After the celebrations were complete outside, everyone moved inside to have a look around a range of stalls manned by the pupils and enjoyed cream teas provided by the PSA.

Mrs MacDonald said: ‘Thank you to everyone who attended. It was brilliant to see so many of you come down to show your support. Thank you also to the PSA for all your support and for providing our pupils with a wonderful ‘Royal Wedding’ themed lunch. Finally, well done to all the children for their amazing performances, which I know they put a lot of time and effort into rehearsing. We are already looking forward to next year’s event.’
